Two teenagers and a man are charged with the death of 14-year-old teenager Aaliyah Salazar in Colorado (USA). She was recording a video of her dancing for TikTok at her grandfather’s house when she was shot.

According to Fox News, the teens were friends with Aaliyah. They were holding the gun and on 1 August they hit the young woman in the head. The two were charged with murder and possession of illegal weapons.

The firearm is owned by 21-year-old Emiliano Vargas. He was not at home at the time of the incident, but was accused of allowing a child under 18 to use a gun.

According to the publication, the police recovered the video showing the exact moment Aaliyah was shot. At the scene, the young woman appears to be dancing with someone “moving something” in the background, according to court documents.

In an interview with the American TV channel WCNC, the teenager’s grandfather, Gary Salazar, reminded that the girl is very charismatic.

“He can walk into a store and hang out with 20 new friends,” he said. “He was just that kind of person. He loved people, and people loved him.”

A new prosecutor is expected to take on the case this month, and officials have said they will review the investigations. The maximum sentence for the young woman’s two friends is six years.
