Lawyer Walter Maierovitch, columnist UOLjoined UOL News this Friday (2) and commented on the attack on Argentina’s vice president, Cristina Kirchner. He understands that this shows how fascism is growing in the world and therefore Justice must take action to defend democracy.

“What’s happening is that fascism is marching. Mussolini had a unit of attacking, beating and threatening. Democracy? He needs swift justice, because justice proclaims the law in the name of the people,” Maierovitch analyzed.

The lawyer understands that the attack was a result of the political radicalism observed in Argentina today.

“The criminology handbooks point out that political radicalism makes people who accept this radicalism feel like doing justice with their own hands. The radical no longer believes in the state and will do justice with their own hands.

Josias: Bolsonaro should talk about Kirchner and show he distinguishes between political disagreement and brutality

UOL columnist Josias de Souza also joined UOL News and commented on the attack on Cristina. He analyzed the international repercussions and pointed out that President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) should reject what happened.

“All the important leaders on the continent have shown solidarity with Argentina and Cristina Kirchner. In our land, the main presidential candidates have already spoken. But Bolsonaro, we hope, did not say anything, because it would be interesting to say something, half a dozen words, condemning what happened,” Josias began.

The columnist also recalled that Bolsonaro often criticizes the Argentine vice president. “Especially tough on Kirchner and Argentine President Alberto Fernández. It would be interesting if (Bolsonaro) knew how to distinguish political debate from human brutality, especially if he put on a show about himself, the victim of a brutal attack. This is what happened in Argentina in 2018. We should have been the first to make a statement rejecting the assassination attempt. As a country, we cannot remain indifferent to such a thing, there is a Brazilian involved. This is Brazilian”.

Maierovich: Salles offered defense, but needs to be investigated

Maierovitch also commented on another political conflict that took place this Thursday (1): former minister Ricardo Salles (PL) crashed his car into a motoboy as he was leaving a university where protests were taking place against him. The lawyer realizes that the case must be investigated and quotes the politician’s defense.

“He’ll say he was on the run at the time, being followed, and his physical integrity is under control so he wouldn’t be accused of not being able to provide assistance. it’s called a case of having to flee. But it needs to be investigated. And the motoboy doesn’t need to sue. He needs to see if he’s injured, but it’s a public lawsuit. Physically It’s an attack on one person,” he said. Maierovich.
