According to a statement from the local coast guard, a 46-metre-long superyacht with special details from the James Bond movies sank after hitting rocks off the coast of Greece last weekend.
The ship, owned by a Swiss businessman and carrying the symbol of secret agent 007 on the screen, flew the British flag and sank 15 meters off the coast of Kolona Bay.
According to the Daily Mail’s report, when the ship began to sink, the area’s Coast Guard crews were called and five people were taken to safety.
“The Coast Guard was promptly alerted and sent aid at night. The next morning, we set up an anti-pollution environment, but there are no signs of diesel leakage in the area,” the agency said in a statement.
The yacht captain said that a problem with the GPS caused the ship to head in the opposite direction and crash into rocks shortly before reaching shore.
Although the accident (2) was recorded on Friday, it took two days for the yacht to be almost completely submerged.
An investigation has been launched to investigate the causes of the accident.
The ship, built by Ege Yachts company in 2006, is the third largest ship ever built by the brand. In addition to the 007 logo, the ship has its own heliport that can accommodate 10 passengers and five crew members.
