The support of ex-minister Marina Silva for the candidacy of ex-president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is seen by the PT as the most fruitful way to attract useful votes in the final part of the first round.

The PT is examining repeating similar actions with other political figures, such as former ministers Henrique Meirelles, who was nominated for MDB president in 2018, and historical toucan Aloysio Nunes Ferreira, who backed Lula in the first round.

Lula and PT talk, especially on social media, about getting votes to try to win in the first stage, but this approach always brings a hard attack from candidate Ciro Gomes (PDT).

It would be more fruitful to create similar political realities, such as Marina’s support for Lula, to attract voters to the Turnover. After years of separation, the former minister announced that he had voted for the former president, as he saw the candidate with the best chance of defeating Bolsonaro.

PT also bets on the beneficial vote of the artists. A quoted example is that of musician Tico Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz is a voter for Ciro, but signals that he must shift the game to Lula to beat Bolsonaro.

The PT campaign says the latest Ipec survey brought joy in the final chapter and gave more confidence in the strategy adopted so far. The poll showed that Lula is close to winning the first round and President Jair Bolsonaro has a low ceiling and has trouble growing.

This news calmed the PT and cemented Bolsonaro’s strategy to continue to prioritize its increased rejection or retention. The party believes the campaign will enter a bloodier phase in the next two weeks and it will be necessary to counter Bolsonaro’s attacks.

Weak point

The PT campaign on real estate purchased for cash by the Bolsonaro family is seen as a strategic move. The situation that brings corruption to mind is easily understood by the public. These themes were covered in the UOL’s election campaign programme, Radar das Eleções.
