An employee of a government office in Bangkok, Thailand, was surprised when he was attacked by a python on Monday (12). According to the British Daily Mail, the woman is doing well after her “fight” with the animal at the Department for National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation.

In the video, when the snake emerges from under a piece of furniture, the two of them walk towards a door and pierce straight through their shoes without too much trouble before stepping on top of it.

While those around her are afraid that the snake will attack them, the woman starts to jump to separate the animal from its leg. After a while and a lot of effort, he gets rid of the snake.

After the attack, he was seen limping in pain and with a deep wound on his foot. A government spokesperson confirmed the incident and thinks the animal is unlikely to be from the department. “Now he is safe and has returned home. We want to confirm that the snake neither belongs to the ministry nor has it been brought to the wildlife clinic.”

Authorities believe the snake may have entered the building on its own, as Bangkok has a high concentration of wildlife during the rainy season. Monsoon storms from June to October cause flooding across the country, and it’s common for wild animals to invade residential areas.

For snakes alone, the Fire and Rescue Department receives up to 200 emergency calls a day asking for help in catching invasive snakes.
