Fast-food restaurant chain McDonald’s has announced that it will begin the gradual reopening of its restaurants in Ukraine as of next Tuesday (20).
According to Alesya Mudzhiri, head of McDonald’s communications department in the European country, the first establishments to reopen will be in the city of Kyiv.
Restaurants will initially only operate for delivery, with drive-in services expected to reopen in October.
At least eight restaurants are expected to reopen in the Ukrainian capital within a week, according to local media. McDonald’s will then reopen other units in cities in the west of the country.
Businesses will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and doors will be closed during alerts to allow employees and customers to reach the nearest shelter.
McDonald’s closed 109 restaurants in Ukraine when the Russian invasion began on February 24.
