Ukraine said on Tuesday that leaks in Nord Stream pipelines carrying Russian gas to Europe were most likely caused by Moscow’s planned “terrorist attack” against the European Union.

“The large-scale gas leak in North Stream 1 is nothing more than a planned terrorist attack by Russia and an act of aggression against the EU,” Ukrainian presidential adviser Mikhailo Podoliak wrote on Twitter. Said.

Podoliak accused Russia of trying to “destabilize the economic situation in Europe and cause panic before winter”.

Scandinavian authorities said Tuesday that two leaks were detected in the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline in the Baltic Sea in Denmark’s economic region, hours after a pressure drop was reported on the Nord Stream 2 line, and one in Sweden.

Both pipelines are faulty but still full of gas, which explains the leaks.

Meanwhile, underwater eruptions were recorded before the leaks were detected, according to a Swedish seismologist who probably attributed it to the eruptions.

Russia said Tuesday it was “extremely concerned” by the leaks detected and did not rule out “any possibility”, including sabotage.
