Starring four K-Pop artists, the series will take place in the neighborhood of Bom Retiro, in São Paulo.

HBO Max announced the beginning of the recordings of “Além do Guarda-Ropa”, the first Brazilian drama on the platform streaming.

The production chose Bom Retiro for the filming, a neighborhood located in the central region of the city of São Paulo that brings together a large portion of the Korean community in Brazil, with several typical stores, in addition to hosting the Korean Culture Festival.

The production will be carried out by Sharon Blanche (Carol) and K-Pop stars Kim Woojinlike Kyung; Jin Kwonlike Dae-Ho; Lee Min Wookinterpreter of Sang Mok and Jae Chanlike Chul Woo, who are in São Paulo for filming.

In addition to the worldwide phenomenon that is K-pop (Korean pop), the production incorporates elements of Korean culture in a script that brings romance, magic and self-discovery.

The series follows Carol, a 17-year-old girl, Brazilian, aspiring ballerina who wants to distance herself from everything that comes from Korea, since she was abandoned by her Korean father. When her wardrobe becomes a magical portal to the dorm of ACT, the world’s biggest K-pop group, she finds her space invaded by idols – which turns her world upside down. Between dreams, adventures, music, cultural encounters and mismatches, she will discover a side of herself that she never imagined.

“Beyond the Wardrobe” is currently in the filming phase and does not yet have a premiere date on HBO Max.
