The women’s race, almost concentrated in the final kilometers between Jepchirchir and Yeshaneh, was decided in favor of the Olympic champion with 400 meters left.

Jepchirchir -whose best time was 2h17m16 in Valencia 2020- also won the New York marathon in November. Now she surpassed the Ethiopian by four seconds, completing the podium with another Kenyan, Mary Ngugi, with 2h21m32. Her compatriot Ednah Kiplagat, one of the big favorites, was fourth with 2h21m40, which among her records won both this test, in addition to London and New York.
