Actress Amber Heard’s lawyers have now sought to weaken Johnny Depp’s defamation lawsuit against her by spending hours devoted to actor’s habit of drugs and alcoholas well as in text messages he sent to friends, including one in which he said he wanted to kill and embarrass his ex -wife..
Heard’s lawyers cited Depp’s history as hotel room breaker and the way he touches the lamp in the bathroom while fighting Heard. Depp also faces a lawsuit brought by a production crew member who says he was assaulted in 2018.
Heard’s lawyers are trying to derail Depp’s defamation lawsuit because of a 2018 Washington Post op-ed that says the actor falsely describes him as a domestic abuser, ruining his lucrative acting career.

Heard’s defense argues that Depp abused him physically and sexuallyand they argue that Depp can’t deny it because he used to be drunk and on drugs until he can no longer remember it.
“I, of course, slapped and turned on Amber on a recent trip.”Depp said in a text message to his friend, actor Paul Bettany, in July 2013, that he was presented to the jury.

“I am a crazy person and my head is not right after excessive drinking” Depp continued. “Marijuana, pills … Okay !!! Alcohol ??? My capacity is too big and I won’t stop … Ugly and sad … Oh! How I love it.”

Depp had earlier apologized to the jury for vulgar language in the texts, saying “in the heat of the pain I felt, I went to dark places.”.
Rottenborn also focused on another Depp text to Bettany in 2014, in which he mentioned whiskey, pills and cocaine.
Text messages were sent at the time Depp said he had stopped drinking. And they were sent during a private flight from Boston to Los Angeles where Heard said Depp got drunk and hit him.
Rottenborn submitted texts that Depp sent to Bettany saying he drank “all night before I picked up Amber to fly to LA on Sunday. Ugly, man. No food for a few days. Powder. Half a bottle of whiskey, a thousand red bulls and vodka, pills, 2 bottles of champagne on the plane. ”.
Depp has previously confirmed that take two oxycodone pills, an opiate for which he admitted he was addicted at the time, locked himself in the bathroom of the plane and fell asleep to avoid being interrupted by Heard. He also said he only brought a glass of champagne with him on the plane.

But Rottenborn also showed the jury Depp’s expressions of remorse after the flight. “I’m in a place of shame and regret again,” Depp wrote to Heard.

Heard’s lawyers argue that his article is factual and does not discredit him. They also said Depp damaged his own reputation with his bad behavior.
