Unable to achieve a much-needed victory at Anfield against Tottenham (1-1), Liverpool have complicated the Premier League, which is closer to the title than a Manchester City, which lost after elimination in the Champions League against Real Madrid, than Sunday host Newcastle at the Etihad Stadium.

Jurgen Klopp’s team, who go for another Orejona on May 28 in Paris, have left a large part of their league options against Antonio Conte’s team, with Cristian Romero as the starter and still making the math to achieve a place in the next edition of the Champions League.

Colombian Luis Diaz avoided defeat to Liverpool with a quarter of an hour left, but a point in the middle of the race was not enough for the lead. If Manchester City’s Spanish Pep Guardiola wins on Sunday, it will take three points from the Anfield team, who have just three days to play.

Liverpool, who have been away from the Citizens for most of the season, but closed the gap with a furious final move to question the City title, now have no margin for error.

He took a step back against Tottenham, who knew how to play their chips and take advantage of the spaces left by the locals, turning towards Hugo Lloris ’goal but with a certain excitement.

The situation worsened for Liverpool when in the 11th minute of the supplement the London team was ahead of the scoreboard in a quick action. Harry Kane came in controlling the ball up to the crescent and opened the game to Ryan Sessegnon, from left. He makes a cross in the area collected by Heung-Min Son, alone, without opposition, to defeat Alisson.

The goal upset Klopp’s team. Time and the scoreboard are against him. At the risk of receiving the second, he tilted the field and found the equalizer in an early action, with a desperate shot from the edge of Luis Díaz’s area that deflected a defender and startled Lloris.

Headless, Liverpool launched a desperate attack, finding no goal and leaving with an inadequate tie that took away the panorama for Manchester City.
