Debanhi Escobarthe teenager who was found dead in northern Mexico after spending 12 days missing, was murdered and suffered sexual abuse, according to an independent forensic report requested by his family, details of which were published Thursday by the press.
The opinion, which reviewed the first official autopsy, indicated that the body of the 18-year-old “showed signs of sexual violence” and that he died “before his body was introduced or dumped” in the water tank of a motel, where he was found on April 19, said the Spanish newspaper El País, which has access to the document.
“It was a violent homicidal death,” states the report cited by the newspaper.

The case, which took place in Monterrey (north), has sparked strange interest in Mexico, where the femicide crisis began in the 1990s and hit poor women hard.
The death of Debanhi, a middle-class university student, brought this experience closer to the more favored sectors of society, causing greater impact and social pressure, but also a trivialization of the media case, according to experts consulted by the AFP agency.

The report detailed Debanhi’s body “showing traces of vaginal, violent and recent intercourse” and that it was “inferred from the presence of violent ecchymoses and bruises” on the outer part of the genitals, the journalistic note determined.
The official autopsy did not mention or examine possible signs of sexual violence on Debanhi’s body, El País pointed out.
Debanhi Escobar is 18 years old.
The report coincided with the first autopsy in which the cause of death was an “intercranial hemorrhage”, but details that the girl had several head injuries and not just one as the official report suggests, highlighting newspaper.
“Craniofacial contusions are of external origin in the body and because they are severe, recurrent and have different angles of impact, it follows that they are caused by someone else and that it is a violent homicidal death. , “details the report cited by El País.

Debanhi’s death is already being investigated as a crime of femicideafter originally registering as missing, and doing the work to standardize “a final opinion” based on two autopsies, Mexico’s Undersecretary of Public Security Ricardo Mejía reported on Thursday morning.

Debanhi’s case provoked national and international uproar because of the image that went viral of him, who was abandoned on a road on April 9, 2022, in the northern municipality of Escobedo, after leaving a party and taking a taxi. In late April, the Prosecutor’s Office showed several videos to the media that began after the last photo taken of the taxi driver, at 4:26 a.m., moving Debanhi and leaving him on the road.
In the videos, the young woman can be seen heading to a trucking company, but was not seen entering the area. Minutes later, he went to the Nueva Castilla motel, where the girl was walking on the area’s patio, and according to prosecutors he went “to the reservoir area”, where her body was located.
