Canada beat Italy in their second World Cup game

Canada did a short job in Italy in its second game in the preliminary round, winning 6-1 on Sunday at the World Hockey Championship in Helsinki, Finland.

The Italians were the first to score in the 13th minute of the first period, when Phil Pietroniro found the back of Canadian goalkeeper Chris Driedger’s goal.

It took at least Canada to start the machine. About 3 minutes later, Travis Sanheim tied the game, assisted by Damon Severson and Josh Anderson.

In the second period, Josh Anderson, Nicolas Roy and Kent Johnson made it 4-1 for Maple Leaf.

Goals from Dysin Mayo and Noah Gregor were added to the Canadian tally in the final round.

Maple Leaf representatives tested the Italian goalie 30 times. Driedger received only 12 pucks.

In its first game of the tournament against Germany, Canada won 5-2 on Friday.

On Monday, the country will face Slovakia.
