Brandon convenience store raided in ATM van robbery

Brandon police arrested the two men after they attempted to rob an ATM at a business on Lyndale Drive.

On Monday, shortly after the alarm sounded around 4 am, police attended the scene.

Police found that the store door and window were broken. There is a van inside.

The driver used his van to pull the cash machine out of the store.

However, in his flight, he lost his booty.

The suspect’s vehicle headed south out of town and attempted to turn right on Ferguson Road, where it went into a ditch and got stuck near a creek.wrote the Brandon Police Department in a press release.

A 27-year-old man was arrested near the vehicle. One second, 34, was arrested hours later.

Police said the truck was stolen from commercial property on Victoria Avenue East last night.

Brandon police believe the two defendants were responsible for other crimes in southwest Manitoba.
