Golf is a sport that many footballers routinely practice to get out of the monotony of the round world, lower tensions and, of course, generate camaraderie with their peers. And, already retired, many of them are dedicated even more to this field. They drop their boots, take the stick (one of many) and try to put the ball in the hole in the grass. No longer in the bow. At best, a hole in one. They won’t be Tiger Woods, but they try to defend themselves. And have fun, of course.

Thus, in Mallorca (Spain) the fourth tournament of legends is taking place, with former footballers (some currently as technical directors) participating in the important event. And there is the Argentine representation: Gabriel Omar Batistuta, second top scorer of the national team (behind a certain Lionel Messi).

There are big and heavy everywhere. Some of those? Pep Guardiola (current City manager), Ronald Koeman (former Barsa coach), German Bernd Schuster (former teammate of Diego Maradona in Barcelona), Dutchman Ruud Gullit (Ballon d’Or in 1987) and the Italians Gianfranco Zola (inherited from Diego to Napoli) and Christian Panucci (Parma, Real Madrid), among many others.

Fun moments – beyond competitive logic (nobody wants to lose eh) – and also time to remember old stories and take picturesas happened for example with Bati together with Guardiola and Schuster. “What a joy to meet Gabi again! Years have passed but we are still almost the same,” said the aforementioned Teuton on Instagram.

The event will run until Wednesday 8 June. Who will be the winners after the three days? The laughter has already stirred by itself.
