Economic activity: the number of empty points of sale in the main commercial areas increases

The amount of empty premises both for sale and for rent increased by 11.7% in the two-month period September-October compared to the previous two-month period, but fell by 34.8% compared to the same period last year, according to data released by the Argentine Chamber of Commerce (CAC) on the city of Buenos Aires.

The number of empty stores in the main commercial areas of Buenos Aires has reached 287 stores (for sale, for rent or closed).

If only the premises are analyzed offered for rent or sale, it is noted that there was a drop of 14.1% in rent compared to the period July-August and down by 49.4% compared to the same period of 2021. On sale, meanwhile, increased by 15.8% compared to the previous two months and down by 47.6% compared to September – October 2021.

According to the measurement of the Chamber – which has been carried out since 2014 -, which included the main commercial arteries of Buenos Aires, bimonthly advances were recorded in avenues Córdoba (4000-5300), pedestrian Florida, Rivadavia (2000-2800; 4900 – 5400 ; 6300-7400; 11000-11600) and Corrientes (200-6800).

The avenues Santa Fe (700-5300) and Cabildo (4800-5500) instead showed bimonthly declines, while the avenues Avellaneda (2800-3800) and Pueyrredón (0-1200) showed no changes.

What happens in La Plata
