City: October inflation was 7%

According to the Buenos Aires Bureau of Statistics and Census, “in October, the change in the HICP responded substantially to increases in the following divisions: food and soft drinks, restaurants and hotels, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels. , Health and education, that together they explained 65.8% of the increase in the General Level ”.

Food and soft drinks, the item with the highest incidence, recorded an average increase of 7.0%, accumulating an increase of 95.4% in 12 months.

“Within the division, the main impulses came from Milk, dairy products and eggs (7.8%), Bread and cereals (6.5%), Meat and derivatives (4.9%) and Vegetables, tubers and legumes (9.9%). Restaurants and hotels recorded a 9.3% increase due to the increase in the prices of food prepared in restaurants, bars and taverns, “the report shows.

Fruit grew by 8.9%, oils, butter and fats (9.2%) and among alcoholic beverages beer stood out with an increase of 11.7%.

Below is the importance of hotel accommodation rate increases. Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels increased by 5.8% due to the impact of the increase in rents, together with the increase in the residential tariff for the electricity and natural gas service through the network, due to the new energy segmentation scheme.

Health recorded an increase of 8.9% due to new adjustments in the quotas of prepaid medicines and, to a lesser extent, to the increase in the prices of medicines.

Education increased by 13.4% due to the impact of the quota updates of formal education institutions. The rest of the divisions had a positive, albeit minor, impact on an overall level.

Clothing and footwear were up 6.1%, up 109.3% year-on-year.

The prices of goods and services

Regulated by the state and the municipality it stood out for an increase of 10.5%. Mainly due to the increases in prepaid medical expenses, first degree, primary and secondary education institutions, the adjustment of the residential tariff of the electricity and natural gas service for the network, together with the increase in the fuel values ​​for domestic vehicles.
