“We need the government to give us answers, they are not sizing up the urgency of parts, pieces and supplies which serve not to stop the supply chains”, said Alfredo Bonazzi, president of CARMAHE. According to the leader, companies do not arrive at the end of the year with contributions and there are machines that are stopped due to lack of spare parts.

The various measures taken by the national government in the face of the shortage of dollars have generated endless hardships for companies that cannot import inputs, tools and machinery essential for production.

Faced with this situation, the problems have multiplied to carry on the normal development of the industrial activity, which is affecting the entire supply chain. “We don’t know if we arrive in December, we are analyzing the early holidays of the staff because we are running out of stock or we have stopped the machines because they won’t let us bring a spare part”, they explained from the sector.

Meanwhile, Florencia Vitale, vice president of CARMAHE, said: “We have to ask permission every day to be able to work, it’s traumatic, we live by looking at my cell phone to see if they have accepted my SIRA or not, to see if I can continue with my business today”.

Among the latest restrictions, the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP) has reduced, through the General Resolution 5260/2022, from USD 3,000 to USD 1,000 the maximum amount for the entry of goods into the country through the “Door to Door”. from quickly resolving the need for an essential input, tool or urgent spare part.

“Even though Courier costs twice as much for us Today the main urgency is time, there are companies that have stopped for 15 days for not being able to bring in a spare part that is not produced in the country, and if we can’t produce, we also can’t export, so they’re not only blocking imports but also exports,” explained another of the directors of the chamber. He added : “TheyAs PMI we have the traceability of each machine to explain which spare part we need and for which customer”.

“Over the years we have managed to earn credit from our international suppliers and confidence in our compliance, and in this challenging environment we are afraid of losing that credit. Someone in the Government must welcome us, listen and offer a solution, because this problem is holding back exports to the country”, according to Bonazzi. And he added: “Ships avoid us as a destination. Before the pandemic they arrived from Europe in 30 days, now they arrive every 45 and 60, due to lack of inflow of goods and import obstacles, at that time we must add all the delays due to the import authorization”.

For these reasons, the sectoral chamber expects to be received by the Secretary of Commerce Matías Tombolini and to work on three specific needs: to have a “special counter” to attend to emergencies of spare parts, tools and essential supplies, to obtain a courier differential up to US $5,000 and up to 50 kg for essential spare parts, tools and supplies AND foraccelerate the SIRA, with specific deadlines that allow them to have predictability.
