“If Argentina are champions, I’ll give you TV”: as in Russia 2018, Noblex still shakes

Out of a sense of opportunity, Noblex has reissued its successful World Cup promo. On October 30, Noblex, the flagship TV brand of the Newsan Group, was launched “God pays: if Argentina win the World Cup, Noblex will give you your money back”. Apart from the millions of enthusiastic Argentines with Messi and Scaloni’s team in the semifinals, there are a handful that could celebrate twice.

The Noblex promo lasted for one day. It was officially unveiled on October 30 (Maradona’s birthday) and has promised to return the full amount of the most expensive TVs in its catalog in case Argentina is consecrated in Qatar 2022. The company got its earnings. That day they shipped 300 65-inch units, costing $280,000, and 230 75-inch units, costing $350,000 each.. On average, the brand sells an average of 75 of these devices per month.

“We have done very well commercially, we have exceeded our target and we had sales of US$1,000,000equal to a third of the annual sales of this type of product in a single day,” explains Newsan marketing director Marcelo Romeo. As for the possibility of returning this amount in case of Messi’s victory, the executive said that “If this situation occurs, far from being a burden or a commitmentwe would see it as a celebration.”

Noblex repeats successful ad from late 2017, when he promised to give away the TV in case Argentina failed to qualify for the World Cup in Russia. There were 4 dates left from the end of those qualifiers, with a selection on the verge of elimination. As all over the world, televisions are positioned as the leading product in the consumer electronics market. In the industry expect to close the year with 3.2 million units sold. The TV models chosen by Noblex for the promotion are considered top of the range, i.e. the most popular on the market. The 65″ and 75″ screens based on OLED technology they represent only 2% of total sales. The standard sizes for Qatar 2022 are 50″ and 55″, in 4K. The latter have been included in the official Ahora 30 programme, which allows you to finance purchases in 30 fixed installments at an annual rate of 48%.
