A co-teacher is being investigated by the police for allegedly having sex with a student and sending intimate photos to another minor. The crime was committed at a school in Butler County, Ohio (USA).
According to North American broadcaster FOX News, 24-year-old Ana Leigh D’Ettorre had an affair with a 13- to 16-year-old student from Liberty Junior School. She has been arrested by the county police and is awaiting trial in the case, she.
The identity of the victim was not released by investigators for security reasons.
The educator was charged with illegal sexual intercourse with a minor. She also got 11 for spreading sexually oriented material considered harmful to teens.
The prosecution recommended that Ana should attend the pre-trial hearing on January 10, 2023.
The alleged crimes took place between May 21 and August 30 this year.
According to the prosecution, Ana was going to send nude photos to another student while she was still a college student.
Lakota Education District spokesperson Betsy Fuller expressed regret over the situation in a press release and said she was cooperating with authorities.
“After the start of the current school year, we have been informed that an investigation is underway involving Ms. D’Ettorre and we are cooperating fully with the authorities. We are very disappointed by these allegations.”
In the document, Betsy also said that during Ana D’Ettoree’s tenure with the Lakota, the district did not receive any complaints regarding suspicions regarding her behavior or actions.
“It is imperative that our students feel safe in our schools, so we ask them or their families to immediately report any concerns directly to an administrator.”
