Free beer: after the World Cup, Budweiser is giving away the cans it couldn’t sell in Qatar

How to get free beer?

The company will take advantage of the promo to spread its direct sales platforms TaDá and Second Fortnight, two developments of Quilmes. It will also be celebrating across the country with exclusive promotions in the coming weeks.

All week long, Bud will be giving away tin cans 410ml of beer per day to each adult user through the Segunda Fortnight platform and will distribute coupons for a free six-pack through the TaDá e-commerce site.

After filling in a form with personal data, a QR will appear with which you can access a can in shops in all districts. Users can run this process up to 3 times a day.

In addition, throughout the week, the brand will implement exclusive promotions for over 8s of 2X1 and 3X2 offers in Disco, Vea and Jumbo supermarkets and in various points of sale throughout the country.

On sale in TaDá there will also be aluminum cups Alucup, le FIFA exclusive merchandise which was delivered during World Cup matches, that changes color when cold beer is served.

Furthermore, to continue with the celebrations of the world championship, Budweiser will organize a Fan Fest in Rosario, Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Tucumán and Cipolletti with the presentation of the invited artists.

What happened in Qatar with beer

Qatar has banned the sale of alcoholic beverages in stadiums less than 48 hours before the start of the World Cup, which has meant a major blow to the brands that sell them. among these Budweiser, which in addition to sponsoring the event also sponsors Lionel Messi.

At the time, The Sun newspaper reported that, due to the last-minute ban, FIFA would have to pay the brand around €40 million for the losses it caused.

It turned out that the agreement between the two for this edition of the competition was around 75 million euros, while the figure for the 2026 World Cup amounts to 110 million.
