A local fintech arrives in Davos as one of the six most innovative companies in the world

An Argentinian fintech will be present at the Davos Economic Forum. Its CEO and founder, Gaston Irigoyen he will be part of a select and select group of national business people attending the global event to be held in Switzerland this week.

Grapefruit, the financial technology company that in the two years since its creation already raised US$60 million of international funds and landed in five countries, was selected as one of you are finalists among more than 3,400 start-ups from 140 countries around the world. The company entered several rounds over six months, in front of a judging panel of over 250 investorswho selected the finalists.

The Founders Games will take place during World Economic Forum week, this Thursday at noon in Davos. The organization of the event (for the thirteenth time) is managed by the Webit Foundation, with the aim of supporting companies innovative and fast growing.

Grapefruit, created by two former executives of Naranja Xit is a so-called B2B company, i.e. it has other companies as customers, not end users.

It is dedicated to provide financial services to other fintech or crypto platformsespecially everything related the issuance and processing of cards, whether they are prepaid, debit, credit, physical or virtual.

As explained by the Argentinian company, it is a distinction: “The grapefruit is recognized as one of the six most promising companies which comes to generate positive change in society,” they said.

“We are very proud to have reached this stage of the Founders Games. Once again, we were able to represent the region in a global gathering of high-potential leaders and companies. This encourages us to continue working for Latin America to move towards a digital finance ecosystem that promotes financial inclusion,” said Irigoyen.

With operations in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, This fintech has had a meteoric rise, even in an unfavorable context for the sector such as that which occurred last year. It has not only been able to attract investment capital, but also the attention of various companies in the region, such as Rappi, Bitso, Ripio, Agrotoken, Capim, Moeda Pay, Kapital and PayJoyMoreover.
