Pressured by the sharp rise in prices which does not give up, the Minister of the Economy, Sergio Massalaunched this Friday at Expanded version of Fair Prices which includes a cap on tuition increases for private schools. He did it during an act that he shared with the CGT, UIA, entrepreneurs and a handful of pro-government mayors.

During the official presentation that took place at the Kirchner Cultural Center (CCK), Massa explained that the program will last until June 30 and clarified that it was decided to lower “the standard to 3.2%” per month, which “together with the solution of other problems” will allow “to address the biggest problem that the Argentines have, which is inflation”.

“THE inflation is an economy’s worst poison because it is loss of monetary value, loss of wage value, loss of asset value, but also why it means there are no rules“, underlined Massa, accompanied by the secretary of Commerce, Matías Tombolini, trade unionists and mayors.

In this framework, the head of the Palacio de Hacienda stressed that the program is the result of a voluntary agreement and stated: “No one in this deal is to cheatbecause some companies have limited the supply of products in the gondolas and said they have no supply in the value chain.”

THE new edition covers 49,832 articles, with cap increases of 3.2% per month and a new one basket with 2,000 frozen basic products for 5 months.

The XL version of Fair Prices includes consumer products, apparel, footwear, building materials, cell phones, small appliances, and medicines, among others.

In addition, the national executive has designed new software for Control program compliance through virtual monitoring. This computerized radar, which will partially replace checks in supermarket branches, was developed by Amazon and Arsat and will make it possible to monitor excessive increases in around 32,000 consumer goods.

The Secretary of Commerce specified that the application has the capacity to process 15 million data points per day, detecting consumer products in all chain and wholesaler outlets. Initially, the application will only lighten food, drink, toilet and cleaning.

The computerized radar will be integrated with another instrument that will allow it keep track of the prices offered on the Internet by companies that have agreed with the government, as an alert system is incorporated when comparing month-to-month values ​​when increases of more than 3.2% are detected.

The economy minister has announced a new form of price checks “for those who don’t like physical verifications”, which will allow them to do virtual monitoring “so nobody is bothered by verification vests”.
