Automotive terminals produced in February 46,286 unitsA 22.9% more of the same month of the previous year, as reported by Automotive Manufacturers Association (ADEFA).
In the cumulative for the first two months, the sector produced overall 73,470 vehicles, 30.5% more compared to 56,312 units in the same period of 2022.
Although the data accumulated for the first two months shows a monthly average lower than last year’s production (almost 537,000 units)is due to seasonal problems: in January, the terminals manufactured just under 28,000 unitsdue to technical shutdowns between the end of December and the beginning of January.
Half of February’s production was destined for export: the report shows that the volume of exported vehicles last month was 23,960 units, 19.7% above February 2022.
In the cumulative January-February, the exported terminals 35,318 units, 20.4% more compared to shipments recorded in the same period last year.
“The numbers of the main variables continue to register a positive trend, confirming the trend we anticipated months ago,” he said. Martino Galdeano, president of ADEFA. In the press release released by the institution, Galdeano remarked that the increase in the main variables “reflects the joint work that we are carrying out in a sustained way with the value chain and the authorities”.
Wholesale sales, i.e. the vehicles that the terminals send to the dealerships (both locally produced and imported from the terminals themselves, have been 30,125 units in February, 18.5% higher than the volume of the same month last year.
