Gastón Ricardo is originally from the city of Carmen de Areco in Buenos Aires and, like many boys from the interior, he went to study in the city of Buenos Aires. He obtained the diploma of Chartered Accountant and dedicated himself specifically to tax matters.
Then, he had the opportunity to work for free in an important studio for three years and, subsequently, with the experience gained, he was able to open his own studio which he still runs. In addition, he is an honorary professor of fees at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). “The public university gave me a lot of who I am, so I never got paid,” he noted. On his back he also has several books written on the same subject.
But Gastón has a part of his life in the “big city” and another part in the countryside. He is a farmer and since 2008 he has planted “a seed” in an enterprise that was his dream.
Initially, it started with a project to make diesel tanks. And at that moment they met Ricardo Baumer, a recognized specialist related to seed drills and direct sowing. They bought the project from him and together they looked for a way to improve it.
2008 was the beginning of what Indecar is today. It started in a shed with a dirt floor and sheet metal. And today it has a factory set up in Carmen de Areco, with offices and three warehouses of 2,000 m2.
“Everything we sell, we invest in Indecar,” said the entrepreneur about the company’s strategy.
As he explained, Indecar is the only factory that produce all kinds of flower stands: plot seeders (those used by seedbeds), point-pull seeders (the most traditional) and pneumatic seeders (spider with hopper and minivan). It also sells fertilizers and gune spreaders.
But the focus is above all on the segment of pneumatic seed drills, which are larger equipment than traditional ones,
Last year produced 60 planters in total and sold 40, with a marked decline in the market in the second half of the year, as happened in the sector in general due to the drought. And for this year they plan to reach 80 units produced. The plan is to produce 300 planters over the next two years.
To achieve this ambitious goal, they are investing in add more technology in the factory to save time and increase work capacity.
60 people work in the plant, mainly from the Carmen de Areco area. And they bet to specialize them. “We have a group of people who come to point. I therefore want these people to grow hand in hand with Indecar both economically and professionally ”, she underlined.
Plus the signature has a leg up in the international market. They export to Uruguay and have sold to Ukraine, Russia, Bulgaria, Armenia, Italy and Germany, and are now in talks to enter Colombia, Paraguay and Bolivia. In any case, he warned that due to competition and the issuance of the dollar, it is difficult to export.
News in Expoagro
The main technological novelty of the brand at Expoagro is the presentation of the second generation of the Torflex model, a pneumatic seed drill, which will become the most autonomous on the market, with a hopper of almost 17,000 liters and a working width of up to 18 metres, which allow it to sow and fertilize about 180 hectares per day with high quality.
“It is the largest planter on the market and the one with the greatest autonomy. It is important to note that this machine incorporates a patented dosing system which ensures that two seeds are never left together, allowing for greater precision in the distribution of plants in the lot. The homogenous distribution results, at the same time, in a higher yield of grains per hectare, which is why we say that this machine offers the best approach on the market,” said the manager, adding that this it means between 300 and 500 kilos more yield per hectare when wheat, soybeans and barley are harvested.
In addition to the Torflex 2, the company will present at its stand other machines from the exclusive segment of pneumatic drilling rigs, such as the Neo and the Neo Plant. The seed drill offer is completed with the Guerrera line in its 5, 7 and 10 meter variants.
The other great novelty will be the presence of the Phantom pneumatic fertiliser, which stands out for its complete equipment, both in the trailed version and in the fertilizer kit. Similarly, in the field of spreaders, the renowned DO4, DO12 and DO18 will be present.
