The Argentine Rural Society brought together 6 presidential candidates, who presented political and economic proposals for the campaign with strong criticism of the current government and recognized the difficulty of eliminating withholding taxes and quickly unifying the exchange rate.
The current head of government of the city of Buenos Aires and candidate for the presidency of Together for Change, Horacio Rodriguez Larretaalluded to held with former president Mauricio Macri who spawned in the party after the decision to split elections in the city of Buenos Aires.
“I voted a law in late 2018 that in this city (for the CABA) you vote with one ballot and there is no room for interpretation”, he stressed.
And speaking of the possible dissolution of Together for Change, the Buenos Aires official stressed that “there is no possibility of breakage. All of us who want to stand as candidates go to Paso and have discussions there”.
Referring to what the field represents for the country, he said that “There is no doubt that it is Argentina’s productive engine.” And he stressed that the field must grow, which is why he presented a plan to double exports in 6 years, establishing the basic rules; achieve exchange rate unification as quickly as possible; eliminate day one withholdings for more than 200 products from regional economies and mark a staggered decrease commitment for the remainder of crops; de-bureaucratize and simplify the completion of procedures; modernization of infrastructures and opening of markets to the world and signing of new commercial agreements.
The other candidate of Together for Change, Patricia Bullrichhe did not mention the internship that was generated after the decision to divide the elections in the city of Buenos Aires and focused on the campaign proposals.
In this regard, on withholding taxes He promised to phase them out. “We have to lower the fiscal deficit, make a pact with the provinces and order the municipalities,” he said.
In this sense, he indicated it without withholding taxes, Argentina would grow 38% by 2030. “We don’t want to lose that 38% growth and not go to 6% (growth) if 3% is not eliminated annually,” she said.
In this regard, the current governor of Jujuy, Gerard Morales, distinguished himself and fully entered the Together for Change internship. “Argentina needs to be turned upside down. It’s one of the challenges we have on behalf of Together for Change, in addition to the fact that I’m a UCR candidate,” he said.
By the way, he left them some advice: “We Radicals really like the intern and I say to the Pros that they copy the worst of us. Calm PRO! All good energy. The only force that can turn Argentina around is the PRO.”
As for the exchange rate, he specified that it will not take “more than the first year for unification”.
javier millei He also took part in the conference organized by the Argentine Rural Society and warned that more than one GDP has been “robbed” from the countryside between withholdings and the exchange rate gap.
First of all, Milei promised the elimination of the Central Bank and the dollarization of the economy. And also eliminate the exchange rate gap and withholding taxes.
“If we eliminate the exchange gap and withholdings, the sector can double its revenue and thus contribute a lot to Argentina that we have dreamed of,” he stressed.
At the same time, John Schiarettigovernor of Córdoba, warned that both the negative account of the balance of payments and the fiscal deficit are the two threads of Argentina’s decadence.
In another part of his speech, he called for “they take their foot off the field so that more can be produced.” “All traps and hold-ups need to be eliminated,” she said.
The governor referred to what Córdoba contributed in the 2021/22 campaign in government withholdings. “He took $3,780 million in withholdings. In 15 years, Cordoba has invested more than 23,000 million dollars,” he stressed.
This is why he proposed to progressively eliminate them and that, as long as they exist, they should be paid for by income tax.
Finally, Miguel Angel Pichetto, of the Federal Republican Meeting, assured that “this sector is the main productive activity in Argentina”. Then, listing some of his proposals, he said that “today Argentina is much worse than the beginning of the Fernandez government. The longest quarantine in the world today is paid for with inflation and the monetary question.
Regarding the policy for the agricultural sector, he said: “Basically, Argentina’s problem is fiscal. It would be very nice to say that we will remove the sockets on the first day; We agree that this is a distortive tax and discourages exports, but we understand that this country is going through a process of fiscal free fall and that this measure cannot be taken immediately and must be phased down gradually.”
