In what it constitutes the first modification of the National Budget of the National Administration, with the signatures of Nicolás Posse and Luis Andrés Caputo through Administrative Decision 1/2023, the government expanded by $335,778 million the authorization of expenditures for the current fiscal year 2023. A part is financed with increased resources ($124,210 million) and the remaining part increases the fiscal deficit.
The items that increase are:
- $33.313 million for the Minister of Foreign Affairs “to meet the increased costs of foreign currency expenditure resulting from the latest change in the price of the US dollar.”
- 127,720 million dollars are allocated Secretary of Energy “in order to provide disbursements to the Wholesale Electricity Market Management Company (CAMMESA).
- $ 59,949 million increases the Food policy programs and Actions of the National Program for Socio-Productive Inclusion and Local Development Improve your work. AND Family assignments.
- $96,585 million will be “appropriated to meet the needs outlined in compensation to the violated sectors and in the system of returning to final consumers a portion of purchases made from companies registered in the “butcher’s register”.
- $4,847 million increases the budget of the Pension, Pension and Pension Fund of Federal Police“to address needs related to retirement, pension and pension assistance.”
- 10,000 million dollars “to respect the commitments made with the provincial governments”.
Other minor items concern pensions from the National Disability Agency, military retirements and pensions and unemployment benefits.
Extension
On Wednesday, Javier Milei signed the decree extending the General Budget Law of the National Administration for the financial year 2024.
The regulation, with number 88/2023, was published in the Official Journal. “From 1 January 2024, pursuant to the provisions of Article 27 of the Law on Financial Administration and Control Systems of the National Public Sector no. 24.156 and its amendments, the provisions of law no. National Administration for Fiscal Year 2023, its amending and supplementary regulations,” reads Article 1 of the document.
In the following paragraph he mandates the Chief of Cabinet “to promptly adapt the extended budget pursuant to article 1 of this decree in order to comply with paragraphs 1 and 2 of article 27 of the Financial Administration Law and the National Control Systems of the public sector no. 24.156 and related amendments.
