THE Argentine Aviation Associationunion which mainly groups together the on-board staff Argentine airlinesannounced that it will implement a “fight plan” with “direct action measures” due to the failure of the Government and the state airline itself to respond to their requests.
The union released a statement informing that, after holding an extraordinary meeting, its board of directors received the mandate to implement the fight plan.
In this way the union could take forceful measures imminentas part of the “state of alert and mobilization”, adds the note.
The AAA guild is led by Juan Pablo Brey and its members are mainly cabin crew Airline companies and other domestic airlines that currently do not operate flights or charter flights, such as Andean or avian.
It does not, however, include the on-board staff of the two “low cost” airlines which today capture almost 40% of national flights, Flybondi and JetSmart. These two companies have all their staff grouped together company unionsfigure enabled during the last period of the Macri administration.
Cabin crew usually negotiate separately from other aviation unions as APLA (pilots), SUITED (aeronautical technicians), UPSA (hierarchical) e APA (Ground staff).
In the strike of 28 February they did not actively adhere to the measure of force called by three unions: pilots, senior staff and ground staff. Not even the aeronautical technicians union, chaired by Ricardo Cirielli, participated.
During the AAA meeting, according to the release, both Brey and other board members “explored this scenario, sharing details from several meetings we have had, both with businesses and government authorities.”
In this way, the Assembly decided to declare the “state of permanent assembly” and to give broad mandate to the Board of Directors to take direct action measures. “Without a doubt we are living in a very serious moment. Reality prevails and asks us for a very high degree of unity to give strength to our union,” added Brey, who participates with Moyano of the Argentine Confederation of Transport Workers (CATT).
