March inflation was eleven%, according to the consumer price index (CPI) reported this Friday by the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INDEC).
This indicator is known after an increase of 13.2% was recorded in February, while in January the index reached 20.6%.
Consulting firms had predicted inflation would be around 12%, approaching pre-outflow dynamics.
For their part, both Javier Milei and Minister Luis Caputo insist that inflation is already in single digits, except for some specific items (prepaid) and the carry-over effect of the end of Alberto Fernández’s government. The Minister of Economy even stated that in some sectors, such as the food sector, a process of deflation is already underway.
Last Tuesday, the Directorate of Statistics and Censuses of the City of Buenos Aires had forecast March inflation in the Buenos Aires territory, which was 13.2%, lower than February’s 14.1%.
