Maggie Videla Oporto, the Undersecretary of Hydrocarbons, confirmed Tuesday at a public hearing that the increases at rates of gas accommodation will be 20% on averagewith a band ranging from 18 to 25.5%, according to its graphs.
This increase is added to the 20% increase that occurred in February (with effect from March), which will give an annual average of 42.7%.
The Undersecretariat headed by Videla prepared the document presented at the hearing, with an official position.
Hearing gas has national reach. In other words, all distributors in the country will apply for recomposition when it is ordered by the Energy Secretariat.
social rate
For most people, Videla explains, the Salary Variation Coefficient (CVS) will be taken as a reference, which last year was 53.4%. Of this number, 40% should be taken, which equates to 21.3% and that would be the 2022 total increase for users ’charges with the social rate benefit.
These beneficiaries have already had an increase (of 21.3%) this year (allocated to gas transportation companies), therefore, the increase “now will be 0%”, explanation of the officer. “It would not correspond to make space for any correction. The increase will be zero because the invoices have already increased,” he said.
Users with no social rate
“In the case of users without a social tariff, the criterion proposed by our President is that the increase is 80% of that CVS,” Videla added.. That account gives 42.7%.
“In February, users without social tariffs had an increase of 20.5% in the Center-west of the country, 21% in the Center, 17.2% in the Northwest, and 13.7% among distributors in the South”, he said. explained.
The official pointed out that this 42.7% should be deducted from the increases that took place in February. Therefore, the increases are now between 18 and 25.5%.
Examples
Videla Porto gave examples of how fees will increase. The official said they take tax-free invoices and detailed that the average consumption of $ 2,008 in the Center-West of the country will go to $ 2,378, while in the Center it will range from $ 2,029 to $ 2,393; in the Northwest, from $ 1,151 to $ 1,402 and, in the South, it will increase from $ 2,112 to $ 2,651 (25.5%).
Instead, the increase will be higher –between 200% and 400%- for clients defined as “high income”. A “segmentation” will be applied to them. In other words, they will lose subsidies and have to pay the gas cost in full.
Ang string of these encounters to deal with the increases will continue on Wednesday (electrical distribution) and Thursday, where progress will be made specifically on segmentation.
