More than a week after the official announcement, Government formalizes changes to personal property tax: the new income and income threshold amounts to $ 3,700,000. From this amount, employees, retirees and pensioners must submit informative affidavits to the Federal Revenue Administration (AFIP).

General Resolution 5204/2022 will be published this Wednesday in the Official Gazette and will establish the obligation to present the informative notoriety deed for those subjects who have achieved a specific gross amount of profits during the year (whether they are taxed, exempt and / or not achieved).

According to what was approved in Congress at the end of last year, for this year the non-taxable minimum from which to start the tax payable ranges from $ 2 million to $ 6 million.

The Ministry of Economy had indicated that with the changes last year 131,000 taxpayers would have stopped paying for Personal Goods. But the Congressional Budget Office estimated that raising the $ 2 million minimum to $ 6 million would free 445,000 people from paying taxes. Due to inflation, they now had to do it update it again.

A week ago, the Federal Public Revenue Administration (AFIP) decided to extend the deadlines for the payment of tax obligations on personal income and property of taxpayers up to three installments and with a 25% deposit until July 31.

The original limit of March 31st was extended, with the General Resolution 5177/2022, until May 31st, again postponed by two months.

General Resolution 5194/2022 contemplates the possibility that taxpayers can cancel the tax obligations on Income and Personal Property up to three installments and with a deposit of 25%.

Similarly, it provides that the agency does not take into account the category of the Risk Profile System (SIPER) of taxpayers in the preparation of the plans for the regularization of the obligations achieved.

The benefit will reach taxpayers in categories A, B, C or D and will exclude those classified as “very high risk”, included in category E.

Changes in earnings

This Tuesday the government formalized the changes to the income tax and the new threshold went into effect. Now, for the fourth category, which includes the wages of employees in a dependent relationship and of pensioners, the non-taxable minimum went from $ 225,937 to $ 280,792.

In this way, and as the Minister of Economy Martín Guzmán announced at a press conference, the new threshold for income tax has been in force since June, as was made official on Tuesday in the Official Gazette.

In the Decree 298/2022, with the signature of the President Alberto Fernández; of the Chief of Staff, Juan Manzur and of the Head of the Treasury Palace, Martín Guzmán, it was sealed what will be the limit by which the gross salaries from this tax will be reached in this fiscal period.

The new minimum non-taxable document of $ 280,792 will apply “to gross monthly salaries and / or assets accrued as of June 1, 2022 inclusive,” the document reads.
