Loretta Rogers, the matriarch of the Rogers family and member of the board of directors of giant Rogers Communications for several years, has died at the age of 83.
Her daughter Martha Rogers confirmed her death on Twitter on Saturday. He said about his mother that he was is a good soul WHO there was an incredible strength of character.
Loretta Rogers is the widow of the company’s founder, Ted Rogers, who died in 2008. She served as a director on the board.
He recently found himself in the middle of a power struggle over control of the business involving several family members.
His son Edward raised his anger when he tried to remove the CEO.
Si Ms. Rogers and two of his daughters who also sit on the board of directors opposed the move, saying it violated corporate governance rules.
Edward Rogers continued when a British Columbia court ruled in his favor.
