The Argentine Rural Confederations (CRA) decided to drop the mobilization in Buenos Aires organizing various groups of independent producers. It was decided after the entity’s Superior Directive Council meeting.

“The majority opinion of the 16 confederations that make the entity have decided that this is not the time to demonstrate,” they said from the entity led by Jorge Chemes.

In this way, the CRA is the first entity to form a liaison table to lead the mobilization of producers against government policies against the sector. The remaining entities (Coninagro, Rural Society and Agrarian Federation) have not decided on their participation.

“We didn’t agree on the date, the conditions weren’t given for a few weeks and agreed to do it at a later date, with a broader view that includes the community as a whole,” they added from Cra.

The increase from 31% to 33% of withholdings on soybean meal and oil exports announced on March 19 was the match that fueled the inclusion of fatigue in the countryside, which seemed short -lived.

From that day on, producers began to mobilize and convene gatherings in different parts of the country to say enough to the Government in the face of a policy they considered harmful and abusive. From these bases, mostly made up of farmers from the Autoconvocados movement, they are organizing a march towards the city of Buenos Aires, to express their dissatisfaction with the place where all eyes and political labor decisions are concentrated.

The Liaison Table of legislators

The Liaison Table today met with lawmakers from Together for Change from the province of Buenos Aires to examine various problems affecting the rural sector. On other topics, they discussed the situation of rural roads, security, rural patrol, tax burden, emergency law, phytosanitary law and connectivity.

“The meeting helped, we agreed on various points and we agreed for the next meetings to take place, both Deputies and Senators, there will be technical teams from the Liaison Table to prepare better legislation”, he said. at the end, Vice President 2 ° of the SRA, Raul Etchebehere.

Those present decided to form teams to work together until 2023. “Together for Change wants to develop plans for the future that will come stronger in case there is a Government again,” the secretary of SRA union, Eloisa Frederking.
