Five days after taking office, Batakis has not yet launched the Ministry of Economy team
Five days after taking the hottest chair in the toilet, Silvina Batakis still hasn’t been able to get her team up and running. The new Minister of Economy announced on Monday that it was almost finished, but in some secretariats Martin Guzmán’s collaborators are still working, given the impossibility of finding someone to replace them. Paradoxically, the same conflict that delayed the appointment of the head of the Treasury.
So far the only official is the Secretary of Commerce, Martín Pollera. Yesterday he participated with Batakis, Daniel Scioli and Miguel Pesce in the meeting with the automotive entrepreneurs of ADEFA. Karina Angeletti, a candidate for the Secretariat of Economic Policy, empty since Fernando Morra left, was also seen in the corridors. What avenues remain to bring products from abroad to the cheaper dollar and without tariffs
Due to new restrictions on access to the dollar, it is increasingly difficult to obtain imported products in Argentina. From electronics and toys to cosmetics, sneakers, tools and parts, shortages are spreading and prices are skyrocketing.

The government gives the green light to the request of the automakers to access the dollars
The government has regularized a demand from car manufacturers that auto parts that are imported and then re-exported in domestically made vehicles are not considered imports.
That claim, although it seemed almost elementary, required a meeting of the board of directors of the central bank for its approval, which took place on Thursday afternoon. BCRA has also completed the implementation of the information system that now allows automakers to approve their official dollar credits immediately available to their suppliers. It was also a situation that was agreed upon in theory, but which only took effect at the end of this week. Read more here.
