With the reduction of 408 products and last-minute negotiations ending with Guillermo Hang’s 44-day task at the head of the Secretariat of Commerce, finally, the Government published the list of 949 products of the new phase of Service Prices.

The new phase of the program, which includes a basket of fruit and vegetables, starts today and will last until 7 October, with an average quarterly increase of 9.3%, which will be 3.3% in July; 3.2% in August and 2.5% in September.

The program covers 949 representative products of the average consumer basket in various items and categories, such as food, cleaning, perfumery, personal care and hygiene, items for children, fresh products (cured meats, fresh pasta, empanadas and cake tops), frozen foods and beverages .

In addition to the service prices, the government has updated the basket of fruit and vegetables, selected potatoes for this month at $ 63 per kilo; onion for $ 105; tomato, for $ 210; lettuce, $ 170; and apple, for $ 190; values ​​that will be maintained until 7 August.

The basket of fruit and vegetables at reference values ​​will be available in supermarkets in the Buenos Aires metropolitan area (AMBA), including Día, Walmart, Changomas, Jumbo, Vea, Disco, Coto, Carrefour and Makro.

Internal Trade sources specified that the agreement was overseen by Martín Pollera, the official appointed by the Minister of Economy, Silvina Batakis, to take over the leadership of the portfolio, replacing Guillermo Hang.

They also specified that they continue to work to agree with the dairy companies a basket with the most representative and consumed products of that category, while the meetings with the refrigerators for the renewal of Cortes Care continue, which will allow to increase the number of products included in the program.

Hang took office at the express request of Martín Guzmán on May 23, following the resignation of Roberto Feletti. Until then, the economist was a member of the board of the central bank. His replacement was Undersecretary for Development Policies with Regional Equity and maintains regular contact with businessmen, governors and mayors.
