Faced with runaway inflation, the Livret A rate will drop from 1% to 2% on August 1. Owned by 55 million French, it remains their investment of choice.
This remuneration rate is based on a calculation that takes into account the average inflation level of the last six months and the average short-term interbank rate.
To find out how this increase in the Livret A rate translates into your economy, you can use this calculator that takes into account the new rate of 2%, which will come into force at the beginning of August.
Recall that despite this boost, the real return on Livret A remains negative as the June one-year inflation rate of 5.8% is still higher than the new 2% remuneration rate. This means that money placed in a Livret A loses its value over time.
