According to the latest figures communicated to us by the operator, confirming information from the Parisian company, more than 14 million long-distance tickets (TGV INOUI, OUIGO, Intercités) were sold during July-August. In the last week alone, SNCF says it has sold 1.5 million tickets.

In addition to the strong desire to travel of the French, the airline is also benefiting from setbacks in the airline sector that is struggling with multiple strikes, staff shortages and flight cancellations. No less than 2 million travelers are expected at the stations this weekend.

Still about ten million places available

In the TER, occasional and weekend attendance in May and June also increased by almost 20% compared to 2019. “This bodes well for a very good summer also for regional and local tourism”, greets the SNCF .

On the TGV side, if many trains are full (and all available trains will be in circulation), the SNCF assures that there are still “more than ten million seats for sale, of which two thirds in the month of August”. A finding also confirmed by the Trainline platform.
