Economy Minister Silvina Batakis signed an agreement this Thursday with dairy companies and supermarkets for the incorporation of 120 products of that item in the service price cart.
In addition, companies and large chains promised to triple the volume of fresh milk and ensure supplyestablishing the formation of a working group that will be coordinated by the Ministry of Internal Commerce.
In the framework of the agreement with the dairy sector, Minister Batakis highlighted the “dialogue with the sector to bring certainty for consumers and producers“, underlining the importance” of expansion, not only in total volume, but in product diversity and the number of SMEs and related brands “to the program.
The agreement to incorporate 120 dairy products at service prices was signed, in addition to Batakis, by the nation’s Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Mattia Lestani; the national dairy director, Arturo Videla; the president of Apymel, Paolo Bad; the president of the Dairy Industry Center (CIL); Ercole Felippa; and the JPL representative, Octavio Bermejo Hilger. The meeting was also attended by representatives of dairy companies and supermarkets.

In a statement, the Secretary of Internal Commerce, Martin Pollerahe said “it is an agreement with a good balance between the parties that allows for ordering and planning”.
He also stressed that the agreement “plans to triple from 1.8 million liters of fresh milk to 5.5 million”.
The dairy sector entrepreneurs also reflected on the agreement reached with the national government, which they considered “unprecedented”, and asked to “continue the joint work with all the players in the sector”.
From this voluntary agreement, that It will be valid until 7 October.the monthly volumes of refrigerated and long-life milk, butter, cream and all varieties of cheeses will be increased.

From the Palacio de Hacienda they assured that “it is a basket of the best quality and more representative of family consumption which incorporates 40 new products, including different varieties of milk, cream cheese, butter, dulce de leche, yogurt, spreadable cheese and mozzarella “.
The inclusion of dairy products once again completes the basket of Care Prices, as the renewal of the program announced on 7 July last included grocery products, cleaning, perfumery, personal care and hygiene, baby items, fresh products (cold cuts, fresh pasta, empanadas and cake tapas), ice cream and drinks; along with a basket of fruit and vegetables.
In this way, the total amount included in the basket amounts to about 1,070 products.
For this phase, which will last until 7 October, a guideline of average quarterly increase of 9.3%, which will be divided as follows: 3.3% in July; 3.2% in August and 2.5% in September in the case of products in stock.
As for dairy products, in July it will be 4.9%; 3.3% in August and 2.8% in September, with which the average total will be 9.1% for the quarter.
