It’s a rule that Prince William and Kate Middleton never deviate from: on each birthday of one of their children, a new portrait is revealed. This Friday is the turn of Prince George, who celebrates his 9th birthday.
“George is 9 years old!” The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge simply wrote on their Instagram account in the caption. The boy appears there all smiles on the beach, dressed in a blue polo shirt. According to a press release from Kensington broadcast on CNN, it is Kate Middleton, an amateur photographer, who signs this portrait.

Prince George has appeared at various public events in recent months. In particular, the platinum jubilee of the Queen of England, her great-grandmother, which marked the 70th anniversary of the latter’s reign last June.
Prince George is the eldest son of the British princely couple, followed by Charlotte (7 years old) and Louis (4 years old). In fact, he is destined to become King of England one day. He is third in line to the British throne, behind his grandfather Prince Charles and his father William.
