An agreement to increase the minimum of logistics branches, a particularly tense sector affected by labor shortages, was reached this Friday between employer organizations and three unions. Thus, all the coefficients must be revalued up to 8% for workers and employees, and 5% for executives, as of September 1.
This agreement “allows taking into account the latest increases in the Smic, including the one scheduled for August 1”, welcomes Unión TLF, one of the employers’ organizations in the sector, in a press release. The rest of the employer organizations (FNTR, FNTV and OTRE) also signed the agreement, as well as three of the five representative unions (CFDT, CFTC and CFE-CGC) that together represent more than 50% of the workers in the sector.
‘It’s not a historic deal’
This agreement “attests to the commitment of the social partners to preserve the attractiveness of the sector”, rejoiced the TLF Union. An observation tempered by Thierry Douine, president of the CFTC-Transports, signer of the agreement. “It’s not what you’d call a historic deal,” he said. “It allows us to get the grills out below the minimum wage level, but if inflation continues to gallop, we’ll have to come back to the table early next year,” he added.
“If tomorrow (employers) want to find an employment dynamic in front of young people, they will have to do more”, judged Thierry Douine. The TLF union has indicated that it is willing to negotiate the introduction of a 13th month from the start of the school year, but also a plan to reduce “work accidents and occupational diseases” and a “social protection base”.
