The return of inflation will not have really altered the buying habits of consumers. According to the panelist, the unbeatable Ricard 1L bottle retains its first place in value, with a turnover of 126.8 million euros .

Cristaline price rises

Once again, the top 10 is dominated by drinks. In second place is the Cristaline 6 x 1.5L container (117.8 million euros), which has seen its price rise for the first time in 20 years in recent weeks. On the contrary, the price of a bottle of Ricard has tended to fall, as a result of a struggle between distributors who have multiplied the promotions of this star product.

Also noteworthy is the entry into the top 10 of Coca-Cola 6x33cl cans (5th, 59 million euros) and Desperados Beers 20x25cl bottles (8th, 49.6 million euros).

Nutella, the leading non-drinkable product

Regarding non-drink products, the 1 kg jar of Nutelle remains the leader with sales of 39.7 million euros in the first six months of the year. The 825g format of the spread is in third place (31.1 million euros), only behind the 300g Caprice des Dieux cheese (31.5 million euros).

Three references also made their way into the top 10: Lotus Confort x24 toilet paper (22.7 million euros), Sodebo Manhattan salad (22.3 million) and Herta Le Bon Paris ham 4 sections (21.2 million euros) .

Likely as a consequence of inflation, half of Nielsen’s top 100 SKUs saw their sales decline in the first half of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021. As a result, the overall sales of the top 100 best sellers in France fell by 2.6% in one year. year in the first six months of the year.
