The transport operator specifies that 60% of the 14 million tickets purchased for the summer holidays were purchased on the Connect application.

It is a record summer for SNCF with 14 million long-distance tickets sold in July and August, 10% more than in 2019.

On the TGV side, if many trains are full (and all available trains will be in circulation), the SNCF ensures that there are still many places to be seized, as long as we avoid weekends with large departures/returns.

The public company also highlights that 60% of the tickets purchased for the summer holidays were purchased on the Connect application. Proof that despite its many bugs, gradually corrected, the SNCF tool gets the job done.

3 out of 4 tickets sold at reduced prices

It specifies that the reservations made in D-30 have increased 5 points (compared to the summer of 2021) in the long distance. Another highlight is that short-term stays (less than 3 days) increased by 3%.

If Paris, Lyon, Bordeaux, Marseille and Avignon continue to be the most attractive destinations in terms of volume, the SNCF notes the emergence of the attractiveness of medium-sized cities such as those of the Grand Est region: Nancy (+56%), Metz (+ 50%) and Reims (+63%).

He adds that this summer the Regions (organizing authorities of the TER) put 2 million TER tickets on sale at reduced prices.

Finally, it seems that the dematerialized Chèques-Vacances have been very popular since their arrival on SNCF Connect at the end of May, as 45,000 reservation places have been paid for with this service this summer. This means of payment is mainly used by families.

SNCF Connect: new features coming soon

This summer, users should see the “via” option appear to select a stage, as well as the long-awaited payment of Apple Pay and the “where to get on” view in Transilien for users to save time when traveling.
