Black semester for EDF, which recorded a net loss of 5,300 million euros in the first half. One of the heaviest in its history.
This fall is explained by the drop in nuclear production, linked to corrosion problems in part of its reactors, and its contribution by the State to contain the French electricity bill, a- announced this Thursday.
“We maintain our forecast of nuclear production for the year in the range of 280 to 300 TWh”, also indicated the general director of EDF, Jean-Bernard Lévy, a forecast “confirmed” by the validation this Wednesday by the Security Authority of the electricity company’s strategy to control the corrosion problems found in its nuclear fleet.
EDF also recorded a net current loss of €1.3 billion (compared to a profit of €3.7 billion in the first half of 2021), a profit before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) of €2.7 billion (-75%) and a turnover of 66 billion (+67%).
