The countries that hire the most Argentine professionals are the United States, Mexico, Chile and the United Kingdom.
Argentine talent has always been in high demand. After digitization and the pandemic, another way to export that workforce from Argentina to the world has exploded without having to go and live in another country: remote work. According to a report, Buenos Aires is in the top 3 of the most attractive cities for this type of contract in digital format.
And this question is twofold: on the one hand, local talents are attractive, but on the other, Argentines immersed in a severe economic crisis are looking for more and more options that allow them to make their salary work, and for this a good solution is to charge in dollars.
According to the Global Report on International Contracting drawn up by Deel, in the first half of 2022 the hiring of foreign companies remotely grew by 190%, placing Argentina among the most attractive countries for companies looking for a digital workforce.
The top 5 compiled by the platform for remote management and payment of talents is in London (United Kingdom) and Toronto (Canada). In third place Buenos Aires, immediately followed by its Spanish counterpart, Madrid, and the North American San Francisco.
The group of young people who most prefer to take a distance job is between 25 and 34 years old. They account for 58%. Those between 35 and 44 years old represent 30% of the sample.
According to the report, which analyzes data based on more than one hundred thousand contracts entered into in more than 150 countries through the platform, the countries that hire the most Argentine professionals are the United States, Mexico, Chile and the United Kingdom.
And other countries in the region are also starting to take an interest in Argentine talent. Peru, Colombia and Uruguay are those that show the highest percentage of growth in the number of contracts, from 250% the first to 209% the last.
The most requested positions to work remotely from Argentina to foreign markets are: systems engineers, developers, interpreters and psychologists.
Argentina also tops, along with Brazil and Mexico, in the list of Latin American nations where more workers are hired for technical roles, to work both full-time and freelance.
On average, the wages paid by foreign companies to Argentine workers grew by 117%, due to the high demand for talent and the scarcity of available candidates. “Particularly in Argentina, the positions that saw the greatest increase in their salaries were the personnel for customer service (116%), designers (110%) and consultants (108%)”, Details the report.
Although it is difficult to determine how much is paid for these jobs, according to market data, the ratio fluctuates between 25 and 100 dollars per hour worked. The actual number depends on the profile of the hired person, his experience in the position, the skills acquired, among others.
Sebastián Siseles, vice president of Freelancer, told Clarín that because they provide services and do not give a working relationship, they measure the average of each of the projects that are uploaded to the platform. For this reason, “there are very sophisticated jobs that can be $ 30,000 or more (for example, creating a website with several pages, e-commerce, etc.), and there are others that are less sophisticated and faster to do, like a translation, putting together a short excel database, etc. which can be of US $ 30 or US $ 50, “he explained.
In this sense, he summed up that the average of everything that is loaded (more than 20 thousand per day) is US $ 161 for each job “.
The other side of the demand for Argentine talent is the trend that marks the report of national companies looking for foreign professionals. At the regional level, it is observed in Argentina, a growth of 174% in the index of companies hired internationally.
In Latin America, international contracts grew by 161% in the last six months and continue to increase. It is the region with the largest number of companies hiring overseas, followed by Asia Pacific.
“The hiring of global talent is a multilateral phenomenon, which is no longer limited to certain countries. We understand that if companies want to access the best talent, there should be no borders and the numbers in this report prove it, “said Natalia Jiménez, Deel’s Regional Expansion Manager for South America, in a statement.
In Latin America, international contracts have grown 161% in the last six months and continue to increase.
How to recruit workers in the hybrid era?
The new normal has pushed several companies on permanent shifts to a remote or hybrid workforce around the world. In this context, Adecco Argentina explains how to attract talents in this way and how to retain them.
According to the latest polls conducted around the world, the majority reveal that they were more productive (51%) or just as productive (44%) working from home.
So leaving the classic way of working in the presence, there are a series of tips that are worth keeping in mind when attracting talents to work remotely:
Use suitable keywords– It must be made clear in the job description that the offer is for a remote or hybrid position. This helps candidates understand What kind of role will you have to play?
Define what is remote: It is advisable to clarify whether the company will always work like this, if at some point it plans to return to the office, if it uses a hybrid model and if it would be willing to respect the choice of the worker in case of changes in the future.
Define what flexibility is– It is common for many remote jobs to include some level of flexibility when it comes to working hours. “However, this doesn’t always mean that staff can work any time they want, so it’s best to indicate in the job description if the employee needs to be” active “for certain hours or answer a certain schedule or question. In a day – today “they say from the company specializing in human resources.
Specify the position when recruiting: It is important to clarify where the research is done from, so that the process is easier and no one wastes time.
Clarify where you can work from: The job may have certain specific requirements outside of the city or community and this should be clarified.
Describe the essential requirements: Although remote working has connected many workers and companies, for example, the legal documentation that the worker must have to work in that place is essential. Furthermore, if the company expects the employee to have its own work team, it must be specified and in case the costs of internet or electrical services are borne by the company, it must also be specified.
