The figure was driven by strong increases in leisure activities, culture, hotels and restaurants, in a month that coincided with the tourist movement due to the school break.

In this way, according to the survey released this afternoon, there is a cumulative variation of 44.1% per year e an interannual change of 69.2%.

“This is the highest inflation recorded by the city of Buenos Aires since the IPCBA existed, which was created only 10 years ago, in July 2012, due to the intervention of the INDEC promoted by the national government at that time” , indicated by the City.

This data is in line with a national survey conducted for the CGT, which showed inflation for the month was 7.3%, the highest since 2002. Official numbers measured by INDEC will be released this Thursday. .

Looking at the breakdown for items, the largest increase occurred in recreation and culturewhich had a jump of 13.3%, coinciding with the weeks of the winter holidays. Along the same lines, there has been an increase 12.3% in restaurants and hotels.

In the first, the study indicates that the increases occur “mainly due to increases in the prices of tourist packages for seasonal reasons. They were followed in importance by increases in the values ​​of recreational and sports services ».

Meanwhile, there was a 9.4% increase in clothing and footwear and a 9% increase in personal care and protection. Meanwhile, alcoholic beverages and tobacco increased by 8.1%.

At the level of the general increase, that is of 7.7%, there are the food and soft drinks and information and communication items, while slightly below (7.1%) the houses, water, electricity , gas and other fuels.

Inflation in Buenos Aires was 5.1% in June, driven mainly by increases in vegetables, bread and meat, clothing, rent and health.
