The start of the school year is fast approaching and with it your valuable dedicated allowance that more than three million French families receive each year. The beneficiaries of Mayotte and Réunion received their payment on Tuesday, August 2. For those in mainland France, the West Indies and Guyana, the back-to-school allowance will be paid two weeks later, on Tuesday 16 August.
Small novelty this year: the back-to-school subsidy, like other benefits and pensions, has been increased to 4% by the purchasing power protection law designed to offset the effects of inflation. This revaluation occurs after a first rise of 1.8% on April 1. Instead, it will not be included in the first payment and will be the subject of a second in its own right a few days later, according to the websites of the Ministry of Health and Prevention and the Ministry of Solidarity, Autonomy. and People with Disabilities.
Fifteen extra euros
The revaluation of the aid up to 4% therefore supposes an additional fifteen euros. The amount of the back-to-school allowance varies depending on the age of the children. With the exceptionnelle majoration, il s’élève donc à 392.05 euros for children aged 6 to 10 years, grimpe à 413.69 euros for children aged 11 to 14 years and atteint 428.02 euros for children aged 15 years 18.
As a reminder, obtaining the Back to School Allowance depends on two criteria: household income and the number of dependent children. The aid is paid automatically by the Family Allowances Fund (CAF) or the Mutualité sociale agricole (MSA) for children aged 6 to 15 from families already receiving allowances. When the child is over 16 years of age, a declaration of schooling must be made on the CAF website. Finally, parents of children entering CP who will not be 6 years old at the beginning of the school year must provide a school certificate to their CAF or MSA.
