The Ministry of Economy confirmed this tomorrow at 13 in a press conference they will give details on how segmentation will be implemented.

This segmentation applies to 9 million people who signed up to continue receiving the benefit. Households who consume above the established ceilings will no longer receive the subsidy for excess consumption.

In the case of electricity, the limit is 400 kWh. In other words, those who consume 500 kWh and subscribe to the subsidy will have a reduced rate for 400 kWh and will pay the full rate for the remaining 100 kWh.

In the case of gas, the consumption limit is 92m3. For water, the elimination of subsidies will be total for high-income users from 1 September.

For the rest, the scheme will be progressive. For households with average water consumption in phase 1, the 40% subsidy will be maintained from November 1st to December 31st. In phase 2 it will drop to 20% from January 1, 2023 to February 28. And in phase 3, starting March 1 next year, They will lose the subsidy.

For low-consumption households, the subsidy scale will be 45% in phase 1, 30% in phase 2 e 15% from March.

The social tariff will remain in effect. The government reported that water consumption in Argentina is recorded 100 liters above the world average. Users pay 30% of what it costs to produce it for every liter of water.

In the AySA area, the average consumption is 325 liters per inhabitant per day. So, on average, in a typical family home located in the AySA area, about 1,300 liters are consumed per day.
