Japan plans to build state-of-the-art nuclear reactors

The Japanese government intends to give a strong boost to the reactivation of nuclear energy in the country, a weakened and controversial sector since the Fukushima disaster in 2011 but which is back in fashion in the face of strong global energy tensions.

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced on Wednesday that reflection would take place on several fronts, including on the possible construction of “next-generation nuclear reactors,” which would mark a major turning point for Japan.
