The world’s richest man, Elon Musk, himself the father of ten children, called on his contemporaries on Monday to make “more babies” but also to exploit more oil and natural gas.
Asked about the biggest challenges facing the world, the founder of US electric car maker Tesla certainly cited the transition to renewable energy but immediately went on to discuss the birth rate, “one of (his) favorite, perhaps least known, concerns.”
In Western societies as well as in highly populated countries like China, the birth rate is falling, mainly due to the aging of the population.
“Yes, make more babies,” he concluded. “At least produce enough babies to maintain the population. We don’t want the population to drop so low that we end up going extinct.”
Need to explore more for oil
Divorced three times, Elon Musk is the father of ten children, one of whom died at 10 weeks. One of them, a transgender girl, recently filed a formal request to change her last name along with her gender in order to sever all ties with her father.
And the American press recently revealed that she had twins in November with a Neuralink frontman, a few weeks before the birth of Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, whom she had with singer Grimes. She is the little sister of “X Æ A-12”, a boy.
Arriving in Stavanger on a private jet, Elon Musk also felt that the planet was still in need of fossil fuel sources.
The largest producer of oil and natural gas in Western Europe, the Scandinavian country is now in high demand from other European countries that are in the throes of an energy crisis and eager to break their dependence on Russian gas.
