More than a year and a half after the signing of the mutual cooperation agreement between Conicet and Pan American Energy (PAE) for the development of sustainable scientific projects, a meeting was held between the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Nation, Daniel Filmus, together with Marcos Bulgheroni, Group CEO of PAE, and Ana María Franchi, president of Conicet, to analyze the progress of the work carried out by the research group.

For the development of these projects, PAE contributes with the capital for the work, in addition to the researchers who are integrated into the Conicet team.

The authorities of Pan American Energy, the Ministry and Conicet have thus formed a public-private link between a company such as the PAE and the national scientific system through the main organization dedicated to the promotion of science and technology in Argentina.

Filmus assured that the goal is “to advance the thresholds of knowledge and therefore to have an increasingly federal science, a fact that is worth double since today 85% of it is concentrated in the central area of the country”. He also highlighted the public-private link and stated that it is necessary “to discuss the conditions, because they are huge investments. Today our task is to use public resources to attract private investments ”.

Bulgheroni, for his part, underlined that “this virtuous collaboration between public and private can be realized when there is a strong long-term commitment of public policies and the decision of private companies to contribute to development and scientific research.
